In recent years, many producers have turned to using audio loop libraries as a way to help them create their own music. However, one of the most common issues faced by producers who use these libraries is receiving copyright claims on platforms like YouTube, even though they have purchased and legally used these loops.
The problem lies in how the content ID system works on YouTube. Content ID is an automated system that scans videos uploaded to the platform for copyrighted material, including music. If the system detects a match, it flags the video and sends a copyright claim to the uploader, who may face penalties such as a takedown notice or revenue loss.
It's important to note that the manufacturers of these loop libraries do not add their loops to the content ID system. However, it's the actions of some producers who unknowingly add their music to the system that can cause this issue.
Some producers who purchase audio loop libraries may not be aware of how the content ID system works. They may upload their music to YouTube and unintentionally add it to the content ID system, causing the system to flag any future videos that use the same loops as potential copyright infringements. This can create a domino effect, where multiple producers who have used the same loop libraries start receiving copyright claims on their videos, even though they have legally purchased and used the loops.
Avoid YouTube Copyright Headaches: Embrace MIDI Files
MIDI files can be a great solution for producers who are tired of dealing with Content ID claims on YouTube as they do not contain any audio samples and are simply a set of instructions for controlling digital instruments. By using MIDI files instead of audio loops, producers can create their own unique sound while avoiding any potential copyright claims.
With MIDI files, producers can manipulate the notes, tempo, and instrumentation to create their own unique compositions, rather than simply using pre-made audio loops. This can lead to a more creative and original final product, and can also help to avoid any potential legal issues.
MIDI Packs for Music Producers:
Apart from my passion for composing music, I'm also a sample pack producer. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of creating hundreds of sample packs for composers and producers through my own soundware company, Equinox Sounds.
I'm excited to share with you my latest creation: the Full MIDI Tracks Series. These packs feature full compositions in MIDI format that you can use for your personal and commercial music productions, as well as for multimedia projects such as YouTube videos, film soundtracks, video productions, radio/TV programs or commercials, computer games, and library music. Best of all, every MIDI file is 100% Royalty-Free.
Unlike MIDI loops that they are short and repetitive, the Full MIDI Tracks Series provide a more complete and complex musical arrangement that can be used as a basis for further creative development. Producers can experiment with different sound design and arrangement techniques, add their own instrumentation, or even change the genre of the original composition to create something entirely new.
