BEST NEW AGE ALBUM
Artist: Juan Sánchez
Album: Now The Silence
‘Now The Silence’ is an album about the importance of solitude and quiet time. Like everyone else during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was forced to be locked at home and spend some time away from others. After the experience, I can only stress the importance of what it means to take some time out and reflect on things from both a mental and spiritual perspective. As Jalaluddin Rumi said: “Listen to the silence. It has so much to say.”
The Los Angeles Tribune:
“The beautiful songs featured on “Now The Silence” are very contemplative and remarkably beautiful, featuring arpeggios, seemingly floating into the air. There is also room for some strings as well as some colorful and emotional arrangements bringing so much focus and depth to the compositions, while still allowing the piano to be the main focus here. This is a fantastic album that sets the bar higher, going for a very simple, yet strikingly beautiful creative formula. If you are a fan of score-type music, neoclassical composers, and generally, great instrumentals with a mellow vibe, this one is going to be right up your alley.”
The National Post British Newspaper:
“With 'Now The Silence', Juan Sánchez has quietly set about, not by conscious design, building one of the best under-the-radar composer driven albums I have personally reviewed in a longtime thanks to the consistently high quality of his work and the growth which is clearly evidenced. 'Now The Silence' is certainly an album which should up there amongst one of the best releases for 2020. If you are a fan of good music, this album will be in one of your repeat classic playlists. We are excited to hear what’s next for Juan Sánchez but for now, he has taken what was an incredible period worldwide and turned it into a classic piece of art.”
The Ritz Herald:
“Juan Sánchez’s music is only a sonic experience that very few could try to recreate. He manages to paint a picture and tells a thousand words, all through the poignancy and stillness of his piano. The tracks on ‘Now The Silence’ sit at a beautiful crossroads between the awe of Sánchez’s instrumental skills and artistic storytelling. Yes – in an album that doesn’t have any spoken words, listeners can still feel a vivid story being told through Sánchez’s lens. A true musical journey from start to finish, ‘Now the Silence’ is chilling, haunting, peaceful, relaxing and ethereal all at the same time.”
Thrive Global:
“NOW THE SILENCE is a relaxing album filled with the sounds of soothing piano. The songs together sound like a story being told and make the listener reflect. It can help the listener to focus on the things we take for granted; or on the things they always wanted to accomplish. The album covers moments of hope as well as despair. ‘Now The Silence’ truly embodies the importance of listening to the silence. Composed as Juan Sánchez had to spend time alone like many others during this time, it holds all the weight of being able to gain from deep and, sometimes uncomfortable, reflection.”
New Age Music Guide:
“Many artists complain that the second album is hard, but Juan Sánchez’s ‘Now the Silence’ flows effortlessly. ‘Rebirth’ was a fantastic debut, but ‘Now the Silence’ is even better. It shows that Juan Sánchez is an artist for the future; He will only need a hit or two to become a household name among New Age music fans worldwide.”
