Over the last four years, many video creators have contacted me asking for permission to use my music in their YouTube videos. Initially, I was a little hesitant because I wanted to make sure my music was being used in a way that aligned with my values. But over time, I began to see the potential benefits.
I realized that allowing these creators to use my music could be a great way to promote my work. So I started saying yes to their requests, with one condition - that they credited me in the video descriptions.
And what I didn't expect, was the significant increase in my YouTube Content ID earnings over time. As more and more videos began using my music, I saw a steady increase in my YouTube Content ID earnings. It was an unexpected surprise, but a welcome one.
Nowadays, there are a ton of videos on YouTube that feature my music, and it's been giving me a sweet monthly income. Additionally, the free promotion I receive from these videos is priceless, especially since some of them have thousands of views. It's a mutually beneficial relationship - video creators get to use my music, and I get to earn income and reach new listeners.
I should clarify that not all of the videos featuring my music bring in income for me. Many of the creators who use my music have monetization activated on their YouTube channels, and they've asked me for permission to monetize their videos featuring my music. I've always agreed, as it's only fair that they should be able to benefit from the hard work they put into creating their content. At the end of the day, I'm just happy to be a part of their videos and to have my music shared with even more people.
In conclusion, if you're a musician looking for a way to gain free promotion and earn some extra income, offering your music for free to YouTube video creators is definitely worth considering. By doing so, you can expose your music to a wider audience and potentially reach new fans. Plus, with YouTube's Content ID system, you can earn money from the use of your music in videos that are not monetized by their creators. So, if you're not already doing so, I highly recommend exploring this option and seeing how it can benefit your music career.
